Parking Lot Safety
Please take the time to review the following expectations for all traffic moving through our school parking lot. While we understand that everyone has many things to do and places to go, the priority in the parking lot must be the safety of everyone. By following a few simple expectations we feel that the level of safety will increase.
- Drive very slowly.
- Enter the parking lot and keep to the right. We understand the temptation to enter the lot and drive directly to available parking spots at the front of the school, however this creates an unnecessary risk for everyone. Please keep to the right and maintain “one-way” movement around the parking lot loop.
- Do not park in the “Daycare Drop off” area.
- Do not drive down the bus lane. When our school addition is completed we will be returning to off-loading our 9 busses in our bus lane. The bus lane is not to be used as a quick exit or entry to the school.
- Approach the exit with caution and do not block the path used by school busses. It is important that every bus be able to enter the parking area and move into the bus lane. Cars waiting to exit, which are blocking the entry for our school busses, results in traffic backing up on the road.
It is very clear that with a school staff of 55, an increasing staff at Creative Beginnings, and a student population of over 600 that the parking lot is difficult to maneuver. We have people parking on the grass on a daily basis (which will be hidden under snow in the near future). This being said, we must all work together to keep every student and community member as safe as possible.
Please abide by the above expectations and encourage others to do the same. We are currently arranging to have our parking lot lines refreshed and considering additional signage to provide visual reminders.
