May 31st, 2026
Dear Sir Adam Beck Families,
We cannot believe our last month of school is upon us! We hope you and your family have been enjoying these glorious sunny days. Please note that the last day of school for students will be Thursday, June 25th.
Volunteers needed for Grade 8 Grad!
If you or your high school aged child have a little time to volunteer for our Grade 8 Grad night, please reach out to siradambeckschoolcouncil@gmail.com. We would appreciate a few more hands to help us with a variety of tasks. Grad will take place June 24th at 5:30pm in our gym.
Pizza Days
Our last pizza was on May 27th. We look forward to more pizza in the Fall – stay tuned for the School Day announcement with ordering information once school resumes in September.
Dogs and Rollerblades
As an owner of two very large dogs, I understand how important it is to get those pups out for their daily walk. Unfortunately, we cannot allow our beloved dogs up onto the fields or in the yard at our school. If you are walking your dog with your child, kindly say goodbye to your child at the edge of the yard and then wait with your dog / head home away from the students and away from the field and tarmac area. As much as I recognize that they are all good dogs, sometimes the commotion and unpredictable nature of children’s behaviour can trigger unpredictable dog behaviour and we don’t want anyone to be hurt / bitten / liable for injuries on the yard. Thank you for your understanding and support with keeping our children and your dog safe.
Rollerblades – if you or your child rollerblades to school, please remove them before coming onto school property. We have many little ones who are not aware enough yet to dodge people on wheels. Many thanks!
EQAO
Our grades 3 and 6 students will be participating in EQAO this week. We are proud of our students and teachers for all their hard work in persevering through this assessment! Please remind your child to have a good breakfast on their EQAO dates so they can power through the work! The dates of the assessment are the following:
Grade 6: June 2nd and 3rd
Grade 3: June 4th and 5th
Crossing Guard Appreciation Week
Please give a huge thank you and high five to our SAB crossing guards this week when you see them. We are thankful for their steadfast work and care for our children as they cross Snyder’s Rd. Rain or shine, we can always count on their presence and we appreciate them very much!
Chromebook Opt-In for Grades 6-8
Parents, please remember to “opt-in” to a Chromebook for your child if they will be in Grades 7 or 8 or 9 next year. It is very important this is done by June 8th. If it is not completed by this date, your child will not have access to a device for next year. Many thanks for your help with this new WRDSB initiative. **Please opt in, even if you are planning on changing schools for the Fall. The opt is for any student in any WRDSB school, even if you move.**
*Current* grade 8 parents (for grade 9 next year), please opt in here: Grade 9 Opt In
*Current* grades 6 and 7 parents (for grade 7 or 8 next year), please opt in here: Grade 7 + 8 Opt In
Track & Field
We cannot thank our teachers and families alike for their support of our students as they engaged in a host of track and field activities this Spring. While not everyone will go on to the County Finals this week, we are proud of their efforts, tenacity, and willingness to take on new challenges. Well done, Chargers! You are all winners!
All the best for a happy and healthy week ahead,
Jaime Demsey, Principal
Rhonda Hewer, Vice Principal
