Students and families are invited to join us for an event to support a successful start to the school year. We look forward to welcoming all WRDSB students back to school on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Events for Students and Families
Supporting the Return to School in September
The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is hosting three events as we near the start of the new school year.
You will have a chance to talk with us about:
- Strategies for getting back into school routines
- Healthy habits and mental wellness
- Social media and the impact on well-being
- The importance of school attendance
- Resources available at school and in the community for students and families
Food will be available for attendees. Please indicate dietary restrictions or allergies on the RSVP form linked below.
Back to School Supplies for Students
Students and families will also have the opportunity to collect some back to school supplies at the events.
Optional Workshops for Students and Families
WRDSB Social Workers will provide:
- Family Workshop (optional)
- Student Workshop (optional)
Participants will learn about:
- Strategies to support your child to get back into regular school routines
- Social media and the impact on children’s wellness

Registration is not required to attend the events.
Resources for Supporting Student Mental Health & Well-being
We know that mental health and well-being are key factors in a student being able to achieve their full potential in learning and in life. Educators and professional staff work closely with community partners to provide access to support and resources for students and families.
