On Thursday afternoon, we received an update from the school board that class placement info would not be available this weekend on School Day. Some schools still pushed through School Day posts while others have not been able to because of inaccuracies due to significant changes on class lists. We knew two things for sure: we will be there tomorrow to support students and families and we will get through this.
We are moving up our kindergarten welcome, including class placement info, to today to support the arrival of our youngest learners. This will be sent to parent/caregiver’s emails.
Please monitor parent/caregiver emails and student emails (could be either) for grades 1-8 for welcome communication from staff indicating class placement. The info may come as an email from the teacher, the principal (some staff’s welcome communication is printed and will be sent home Tuesday), or an invitation to a Google Classroom (although intermediate students may be invited to multiple classrooms due to their rotary schedules). Please be assured that school-based solutions to sharing class placement may not be perfect but we will be doing our best today so that we can take the first day joyful chaos and increase the joy and decrease the chaos tomorrow morning.
If you do not receive any information today, our staff will be present as described in previous communication to help students find their class and teacher tomorrow morning.
Although you may see some staff at school today, our office is closed today due to the holiday weekend and re-opens tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM.
(If you received this update in your email inbox and talk to another family who didn’t, let them know that you are subscribed to the school website! Subscription is available at the bottom of sab.wrdsb.ca).
