I want to address a serious situation involving our school. As you may have heard in the media, some area schools have reported threatening messages found on school property, and unfortunately, this has also impacted our school.

Today, staff were made aware of a note on school property that made reference to an act of violence. The message indicated a bomb threat at 10:30 a.m. this morning. This threat was immediately reported to the Waterloo Regional Police Service who determined the threat was not credible. Police are currently investigating to determine the author of the message.

We want to reiterate the statements from our board that it is unacceptable to make threats towards anyone. Our students have the right to learn in a safe environment without fear. No matter the intention, we take any intimidation or threat of violence seriously.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext. 4421 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff and we are working closely with our partners at Waterloo Regional Police Service. Please feel free to call our Administration at 519-634-8757 with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Alison Wardrop,
Principal
